Eight codes all at once
2004 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T, daughter was driving to Lubbock Tx and her car stalled. Car was towed to my house, ran codes and here is what I got:
P0102
P0106
P0237
P0340
P0341
P0420
P2127
P2138
Researched them all. Wow. Five of the eight include faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Tried to start the car when car got here and it was a no go. Have the car battery on the charger now to eliminate a bad battery. Timing belt intact, no apparent damage in that area. No leaks, no oil fouling on dipstick, dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I am going to clean the MAF and look over that entire area, and continue to look for broken wires, et cetera. What does the court of public opinion think? I am using the 5/8 principle and hoping it isn't the PCM but the car will crank, just not start. Also, my Haynes manual tells me the PCM must be reprogrammed with a proprietary scan tool. Does anyone know if it is possible to have it flashed and sent to me or does it have to be installed to be flashed? Also, the manual says the PCM housing has shear head bolts that must be heated with a heat gun to remove. Looking for some wisdom. Thanks in advance. Frustrated Dad.
