Default ESC light

so im new to all this, but my esc light comes on quite frequently. i know it comes on if im slidding or skidding and on corners altho sometimes i just think it comes on randomly. do you think its mostly because of winter (ice and some snow). i did also recently put a steering rack in too but i had it aligned ive looked in the manual and it said if the light comes on just turn the car off and the light will go off. as long as it doesnt come on with the abs light your fine. is this normal? thanks

I'm having the same problem. Would also like to know what causes this.

The ESC (or traction control light) will illuminate any times your wheels spin, it happens a lot more with front wheel drive cars. A quick scan with a vag com will tell you if there is anything wrong but i doubt it.

yes it happens to me too, when i let go of the stairing wheel while its turned, the ESC light comes on.

But should it say on permanently until u turn your car off?

Should it not just flash on and off?
