Default excessive rear brake dust?

on my 04 A4 i notice that after only about 10 miles or so after washing my car, ill notice an excessive amount of brake dust on the rear wheels. comparing them to the front wheels, they get 10 times more brake dust. its like i drive around with the parking brake up or something (i dont obviously). my question is, has anyone else had this problem? whats has been done to fix it? i mentioned it at the dealer and they said it was normal for a quattro car. they did replace the pads though because they were at 20%.

sorry, my internet use is limited, but anyways, i put my car on on a lift on my work and both rear wheels spun freely. as for ceramic pads, my friend has them on his Evo and they squeal like a pig. if i were to install aftermarket pads, would the warranty guys try to mess with me? what type of pad would you recommend? ive had good luck with EBC Greenstuff pads on my Scirocco, but is there a better pad for my audi? (low dust)

Nah, its not part of your "warranty", and they wouldn't nullify it because of aftermarket brake pads. have you checked your rear disc rotors? I've noticed on mine that i get more brake dust because i need to replace my rotors, thats why its eating away my brake pads. My brake pads are at 15%, but im changing them before winter starts. Too bad audi makers don't make brake pad sensors for the rear =( Since mines a Quattro .... Half **** work ~_~

They bias the rear brakes more to prevent "submarining" during hard braking I thought.

the rotors are still good, they dont have any grooves or ridges in them and the brake pedal doesnt pulsate. what kind of pads do you guys have on your cars? how are they working out for you?

I use HAWK HPS they still have brake dust, but MUCH less comparing to the oem ones. LOW dust= ceramic ones. But they are not always as good as their competitors.

I was happy when I replaced my OEMs with the Mintex Red Box pads, noticeably lower brake dust accumulation.
