Exhaust problem
Alright... I just bought a wrecked 2004 a4 with minor damage (fender, headlight, few hoses, etc).. Anyways a buddy and I jacked up the car after we started it up to noticed it had the sound of an aftermarket exhaust.. What did we find?? Well someone had cut out the resonator and gone straigh pipe all the way to the tips, cutting off both mufflers as well and threw some bigger tips on... Everything in front of where the resonator would be is stock.. The newly added pipes are about the same size as stock but all bent and somewhat kinked looking like it is restricting exhaust flow.. Whoever made this exhaust should be shot seriously.. It actually doesnt sound that bad but can't be good as far as performance is concerned.. So what I'm trying to figure out are a few things.. One... Are down pipes and test pipes the same?? I could have sworn I saw a thread where I kid mentioned he was installing down and test but it looks like the cat is coming right out of the turbo... I see sites selling cat delete downpipes as well as test pipes so I'm confused!? Also I'm contemplating in going turbo back exhaust system since I live in Florida.. Any good systems? Apr is a bit pricey but I'm sure is worth it.. Anyways any help would greatly be appreciated
