I would not do it, I have heard bad things when you do. You should just run the right gas and go from there.

91 octane or better is what the owner's manual and gas filler door specify is required, yes.

I've used Gumout for years and years in all my cars as a fuel treatment, and never had a problem. As far as your oil question, if you don't know if the oil was changed then by all means change it. Not sure what engine you have, but I recommend Mobil1 0w-40 if turbo and either same or 5w-40 for non-turbo.

I have a 2002 audi 1.8t quattro. it has a a few miles on it about 150k. so is Mobil1 0w-40 good for that miles, and if so is it synthetic?

It says fully synthetic on the bottle but smarter people than me have stated there is no such thing as 100% synthetic and that it contains some dino oil. That aside, it is all I have used in my 2.7T for the last 187k miles and it runs great. So, YES.

ok thanks. hopefully that makes the car run a bit better. I feel it a bit underpowered. like when you push the throttle i have to push it all the way down to get it to go fast it responds but not like i would think it would. when you push the gas it goes but i feel if i had the same car with less miles it would respond much better.
