Default Help!

I have a new (well, new to me) 2003 A4 Quattro and i have a problem which seems to be pretty common. I am pretty sure the cars cylinders are misfiring because it has a rough idle and loss of power when driving. From what i gather from previous threads on the forums is to replace the Coil pack, no big deal. However, i guess what I'm wondering is i tested the spark plugs and they all are working so if all four spark plugs are sparking could it still be the coil packs that are the problem. I just don't know if the spark plug relies on the coil pack to even spark.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Is the CEL flashing? If its flashing it is indeed misfiring, and you shouldn't be driving it until its fixed or you will do damage to the engine and cat conveter.
You need to check the fault codes and figure out which cylinder is misfiring, when you find which cylinder is missing you should swap the coil to a different cylinder and see if the misfire moves with the coil pack, then you know for sure its the pack.

OK i went to autozone and got the diagnostics done. The error code came up P0300 and P0302. The guy told me it was cylinder 2 and a miscellaneous cylinder that is misfiring. I have a appointment with the AUDI dealer tomorrow but they want to charge me 150$ an hour for labor. I'm wondering if i should just order the coil packs and hope for the best. I guess my next question is since i have bran new spark plugs, is there anything else besides the coilpack it could be? I just feel like i have brought it down to this through process of elimination.

It's a coilpack. Don't let the dealership do it, you can do it in about 5 minutes.

You can test it by clearing the codes and swapping the coilpack that's third from the front with another one. If the misfire follows the previously third coilpack that is the problem.
