Hi there, my windows were working three hours ago, and just when i'm about to leave and was trying to roll it back up, the Window on the front passenger side won't go up. the other three windows were working great. I need help. Im really trying to avoid going to the dealership, since the last time i got charge a lot. but if i had no choice, i will go. I would rather do it myself, if i could fix it. Any ideas on what's wrong with it. evertime i press the window button it makes a clicking noise. Help please!~

 

I had a similar issue the other day. I roled up the driver side window and it roled back down 3-4" ..?

 

This just happened to me as well. It's a common problem with Audis. The window regulator goes out and it won't let the window go all the way up. It's an easy fix for the dealership and usually only takes a few hours and it's free under warranty. If you let the car sit for a while before trying to put the window up and than you press the button a couple times to make the window inch up you can sometimes get it to go completely up to protect from the elements.

 

It happened to me as well.

If you have the ability, you should try and replace the regulator yourself.

I let the dealer do it and it was about $375 for parts and labor.

 

Yikes, mine was only $225 parts and labor.

 

Yikes is right. Oh well. At least my window works now lol.

 

I replaced my window regulator the other day. Took me a few hours. If you are not mechanically inclined, it's better to get it done by a professional

i work for volvo as a tech and if the window auto rolls up, reaches the top and then goes back down about 3-4 inches that means the sensors lost calibration. it happend to my a4 when it was 90 last week but it stopped doing it. but my point, if its the same as volvo, it needs to be re initialized.


but if its making noise then its catching, bent, or already locked up. then its most likely a regulator unless someone has been in there before.

 

Front passenger window regulator needs to be replaced on my car as well. Just crapped out on me a couple weeks ago. It's going in Wednesday to be fixed... Along with front brakes and an oil change.... Not looking forward to this bill...
