Default HELP! Car will turn over but not start.

So i have a 03 a4 1.8t fwd 5-speed. A few weeks ago, i got up to go to work in the morning and my car was dead so i jumped it. The car started and everything was fine. Once i get to work a friend of mine came in and told me my fans were running on my car. I went to check it out and the car was dead. Charged it up and unplugged the fan control module so they would stop. So i was going back and forth from plugging the module in when driving and off when i parked the car. One day i was driving and the car started to die out, riding really rough and was having issues restarting. I finally got it home and that evening i went out to leave, put the key in the ignition and it just kept turning over and over and over but would not start. A friend of mine told me to turn the key back and forth from accessory to starting position fast a few times and it started up but shortly died. I did that a few more times and got it to start but then it was idling really rough, i put it in gear to go and it would not go over 2000rpms floored. I looked up a bunch of things and it said to check at the relays in the ecu box. opened it up and the entire lower box had a thin layer of rust from where the water was sitting. I pulled the relays and they were all rusted. So im going to replace the relays and that should fix the fan issue but does anyone know what why the car is not starting, when it does idles rough, then when in gear it wont go over 2000rpms? Sorry for the essay but i really need to get this situated before i have to take it back to the stealership.

Thanks
