Default HOW TO KILL AN EVO??

Ok guys, what would it take for a B6 1.8 A4 to be inline with a top of the line evo straight out the dealership? Better yet, what kind of upgrades would it take to KILL AN EVO!!

im gona go ahead and guess your talking bout a stock evo 8. it would take at least a gtrs with a good driver to keep on par and either a gt28rs or a 50 trim to kill one. i can barely beat an evo 8 with my k04, but thats only cause my friend sucks at driving, and every now and again he beats me.

An evo with mild upgrades will do mid 12's if not lower. It takes atleast a gt28rs kit (not elim) to keep up with them. Not to mention you are trying to compare a bare bones rally car to a high end car with about 300+lbs of comfort.

It can be done with something as simply as a screwdriver......phillips head or flat head.

Simply insert the screwdriver deep into one of any of the four Evo tires, then you are good to go......even then it will be close.

^^^ this guy has it right!

Seriously though, APR 3+ fully supported ( FE SS clutch, ER comp intercooler/racetec/awe) exhaust and all that other good stuff) or ASP 3+ kit or a REVO GT28RS or bigger kit...

i would say at least $10k...

but like others have mentioned, i didnt buy my car to beat an EVO, they are two very different cars... its like comparing apples to oranges... and no matter how much you do, all he has to do is get a chip and exhaust and WHAM, he is smoking you again

With proper upgrades, it can be done. I will take a slightly cheaper approach to my answer.
Fab your own manifold, Holset HX35 or 40, fuel pump, injectors, software, exhaust, and cams. More extreme, and more powerful. Less expensive. It is different, and sure it isnt back with a cute name, but it performs.

ok. lets try to explain this how the OP is requesting people. we're talking about STOCK "strait out of the dealership" Evo's.. so

1- a 1.8t w/gt28r will beat a stock evo. exhaust/intercooler/clutch/software and you'll be realing in Evo's for about 3-4 grand.. stock, Evo's are pretty slow

2- only 1 out of 10 evo's are stock. throw $1,000-2,000 at them and they make over 300Awhp. without a sweat. so just know that

Sean,
I have done much fabrication. I do not have to know anything about the fuel system. It is as simple as putting in a better pump, some bigger injectors, a way to control those injectors, and a wideband to monitor that. Or a datalogger to log injector duty cycles. I have been around the block more than once, I know how to make power.
