How many is too many miles on a 2002 A4
well, the shifter doesn't go down to the S so that would be another give away if you had quattro badges in all the right spots.
We're so unlucky in the south. All the sweet deals seem to be up north
Well, you don't need quattro as much as we do up north, so there is more to chose from. I picked up a 2003 A4 3.0Q MT6 in August 2008 with 69k miles for $13000. Beautiful shape. Much nicer trim level than the 1.8T and I don't have to worry about turbo damage. The 3.0l has a belt -- I believe only the 4.2 engine is a timing chain. You start going over 100k miles in any used car and you are looking for problems unless you know the previous owner. No one trades a vehicle with that much on the odo unless they are starting to have problems or avoid them. For what it's worth, my A6 just turned 164k and it is all oem except alternator, clutch and flywheel, and front axle boots. So they can run well over 100k with proper maintenance.
yeah my deal was in eastern PA...
