I need your help :)
hi im looking to a buying an 2004 audi a4 1.8t ultra sport 6 speed. It has 114000 highways (he says he drove it back and forth from MN to CO for business, and he said he would let it go for 10500. is that a good deal??? he has the maintance records for new brakes and roters, all new coil packs, new tires, new timing belt, and a few other things. SHOULD I BUY IT??? also what else should i check out on the vehicle before purchasing? he told me he hasnt replaced the clutch, which sorta worries me. Some expert advice would be grreat! i really dont want to buy a car thats going to need alot of work.
heres some more info.
its dark blue, with black leather, Quattro, new water pump and fuel pump, aluminum interior trim, always Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes. and i attached a pic.

Considering you could get one preowned with warrenty for a few grand more... with less than half the ammount of miles that are on that one.. i wouldnt. 114000 miles is just asking for trouble.. eventhough these cars last forever.. once you get into the higher miles you are probably just walking into some expensive repairs such as the well known timing belt. The turbo is also known to go out... so if it hasnt already.. it might be soon
It sounds like a reasonable deal to me. It might cost you $2-4k to get a lower mileage A4 with warranty. If he really drove it on the highway, those miles don't hurt the engine at all. The maintenance work seems normal. I would suggest having the car inspected by an indie shop that knows A4s for drivetrain issues. I'd be more concerned with abuse than high mileage.
As far as turbos, my 2.7T just turned 123k and is still has OEM turbos.
