Has the surging completely disappeared?

as soon as i got my car fixed its doing the same thing before i got the work done. i thought it was the diverter valve and now the guy is telling me it might be my turbo. he says that it might need to be rebuilt or something. im really getting sick of this car its costing me to much. is it normal for a turbo to go out at 73000 miles.

Ok. Before you go having the turbo rebuilt, did you recently mod the car before this started to happen? Or did you not drive it very hard before you noticed this start to happen? I honestly think that there is the possibility that you are not having an actual problem you just may be expecting too much from your current setup...

i haven't done any mods to my car. my turbo sounds weird when it kicks in its not the normal turbo sound when i first got the car. but on Monday i took my car to the dealer ship (keys Audi) and they told me there is nothing wrong with my turbo. they told me the place i have been taking it to was fixing my car the wrong way. he told me that i had hoses all over the place and not connected to thing that they were suppose to be connected to. so as of now i really don't know who to trust with my car. its seems like one person tells me one thing and the other person tells me something different. the dealer also told me that i have a crack in my timing belt but i don't know if he is telling me the truth. so i don't know what to do.

Tough call. Boost leak test? Find vacuum line diagram and make sure your car has all lines connected properly.

A blown DV won't throw a CEL. $164 for a DV is rape unless its a Forge bud. What codes came up from that CEL when it got scanned? How long has this been happening? Doesnt sound like a turbo issue to me either. Check your lines.

ok so i got my car back and now it runs fine. the dealership told me i had a vacuum leak and they replaced some hosed that connected to my turbo or something. but in all i am happy now that my car is running right. i think for now on i am going to take my car to the dealer instead of a independent shop because i know the work will get done right.
