Default Ignition coil recall question

So I got the notification from Audi to go ahead and get the ICs replaced on my 2005 B6 A4. Car is still under warranty as well, so I don't want the dealer to find out its APR tuned. Is there any reason they might have to scan or flash the ECU after replacing the coil pack? I usually have the ECU locked at the APR 91 or 93 octane setting.

I'm getting my coils replaced tomorrow under the recall. Did you have any issues with them and the APR tune?

I replaced my coils under the recall and I'm APR tuned. Had no issues with the Audi dealership. They just replace your coils that's it. You should not worry about a thing.

Well, I went to the dealer to have my coils replaced (I had the "R" version). The invoice I received after they were done said the part they used was the "D" version, which is the most current version if I understand correctly. I got home after my hour drive oneway and decided to pop the hood and take a look at the "D" version coils. Not only was it still the "R" version but it was the EXACT same ones that were in before I took it in. Before I call and complain, can anyone tell me if I am missing something here? Are the "R" version coils ok to use? Maybe they just inspected them and decided they are good maybe?

They didn't replace them at all! The invoice says they changed them out though. I called them yesterday and talked to one of the Service guys. He said, "Yeah it looks like on the invoice the part was issued out." Then he transferred me to one of the Parts guys and after he looked around he got back on the phone and said, "I'm gonna have one of the managers give you a call, this doesn't sound right." I said, "Yeah I know, right?" I still have not received a phone call back from anyone.

Definitely not a very good experience with the dealership.

Finally received some clarification from the Service Manager today. Any coil that ends with the letters "D,L,M, or R" do not need to be replaced. Just the ones that end in something other than those letter versions.

I was confused because my invoice stated they changed my R's to D's but in fact they didn't change them at all...and didn't need to. Maybe this will help others out if they come across the same issue at some point.

wait what was the reason you needed the cp's changed in the first place? were you getting CEL lights or something?
