Just runs rough, loses power, but can still drive. When it happens take it in and get all 4 done. Its very obvious when one goes. 03-04 1.8T are the most common having the issue (supplier got their hand slapped for this one)

From personal experience, when its minor the car will randomly lose some pep cuz the rpms would drop a bit under heavy accel or at stoplights the rpms would bounce between 500 and 800.. when it got much worse my entire car would jerk whether im at a stoplight or accelerating at any rate

hey, i recently had to have my ignition coil replaced. The car had a really odd vibration to it, specifically in the shifter. and the acceleration was slightly slower.
I brought it to Audi and it was about 180$ fix

how many coils did you get replaced? If it was just one, seems like a rip off on the labor itself. You should just buy new ones and keep them in your car because it takes like 2 minutes to do.

were you told how many and what cylinders? Its a nice piece of information so when the next time it happens, you can just switch it out yourself instead of trouble shooting

I happen to work for an autoparts store, I sell about 20 of these coils a week, I also keep 4 in my trunk incase of emergency (recommended from this forum). They are relatively inexpensive and can be replaced in a few minutes.

My old Jetta had one ignition coil pack for all 4 cylinders. It went like clockwork but was easy to replace yourself and dirt cheap. So Audi has one individual coil per cylinder at $40 each? Adds up for the 6 cylinder. Typical Audi.
Got the flashing CEL yesterday after a very cold start in the snow. Any way to tell which one it is with out OBD equipment?
ANy good sites/threads that walk you through replacing them?
