Default Impossible to solve problem

If anybody has advice I would be extremely greatful. I have a 2002 A4 Quattro Tiptronic 1.8t. I was not happy with the performance when I bought the car so I did a stage 3 turbo upgrade from AWE with the GT28 turbo. The car ran great even hitting speeds of 157mph on a highway here, took a while but got there. Blew transmission the oil pump into a gagillion pieces and that's when it began.

On the original transmission everything shifted properly in tip mode, got to speeds of 135mph no problem. I then lost the 1st and 2nd gear clutches and the transmission was rebuilt by level10. Needless to say 6500 miles later the transmission blew and they wouldn't cover their own warranty. So I got a transmission from certified transmission for half the price and warranty is longer and better. The bottom half of the engine was rebuilt shortly there after including rodbearings and whatever you could think of. I also replaced the temperature sensor to a green one twice now.

The problem is at full boost around 80 to 120 with full throttle I can't switch into 5th in tip mode, and that isn't pressed down all the way so it stays in 4th. It also will switch between 4th and 5th around 120 and not let me pass it like the governor is on. Sometimes in sport mode if I let off just right I can get to 130, and very rarely the car lets me shift at full throttle to 5th around 90 to 120. Everything has been checked, no vac leaks, no bad wires, no bad sensors, no CEL codes or anything. I would really like to get this fixed cause it has bothered me for 2 years now. Any ideas?

this has been covered many times on audizine. There is something in the Tip's programming that causes it to search at high speeds. It seems to be related to the excess torque that the trans knows it's not supposed to be seeing. Anything over the typical s1+ torque levels seems to cause this. A while ago dahlback did a tip chip that solved this, but as far as i know it is not available any longer.

What he said... lol the truth lies on the trip programming. I bought an Euro tuner a while back while I was still in Japan and read the whole article in this, the company that made the chip had it available for a VW Jetta and and Audi A3, maybe they have it now for other applications...

Well I was lucky enough to have the TCM that GIAC can program with the Tip Chip. It definitely shifts quicker and seems to provide more power. Still does the 2 to 1 gear clunk every so often and won't let me shift into 5th at full throttle between 80 and 120. Tried shifting into 5th at 125 but wouldn't allow it like the governor is back in play but I believe that is being caused by my fuel mapping at the moment dealing with the cooling system malfunction repairs. I recommend the chip if you can get it, if not, shoulda woulda got manual. Damn lack of availability when shopping
