installing a subwoofer
hello i have an 02 a4 1.8t and i am wanting to unhook the stock subwoofer in the package tray to put a better one in. i would like to be able to just bridge the stock amp for the sub to another amp and then to my new sub but upon removing the panel in the right side of my trunk i realized that there is a full wiring harness clip hooked into this amp and im not sure which wires are which. does anyone have an idea of if i can bridge this amp or if i will have to just run new power and ground. if i can bridge it does anyone have a diagram for the wire harness going into that amp so i know which wires i need to splice....thanks for all the help.
heyyy
what i did is i tapped into the rear speaker with this unit its like under 20$ from bestbuy. i kept the stock one in, and just added the second on in the trunk it sounds perfect for me, wish the system was a little louder but i def have more bass now. im still looking for the link from bestbuy and ill repost it here.

you will need to run new power ground and u will need a loc. Then what i woudl suggest is removing your rear deck and splicing your loc into the stock sub wires. From there if u have installed a system on your own everything else is very straight forward. and if u plan on running some serious power i woudl also suggest pulling the stock sub or it will start to distort real fast with the extra airflow coming out of the trunk.
If your looking for some quality sound tap into the stock amp that is above the right rear wheel well. Hook into the rear speaker outputs out of the amp. Im into SQ so I spent the extra bucks and bought a nice quality line output converter by Monster Cable. I think I paid around $100 for it. You can get cheaper units but I wouldnt recommend them. As normal you'll have to run power and ground to the amp.
