anyone else?! i'm itching to put on these continental extreme winter contacts. i'll probably put em on by mid november. bring on the snow!

so i've been doing some huge research on winter tires cause i have never had em before. i found out from last winter in chicago that my quattro wasnt much help without the right tires. the four season tires i had on were a joke...IMO. i have on goodyear eagle F1 ultra high performance. i thought the treads on them would be good on snow but it wasnt. its really only good for the 2-3 seasons.

anyways... there hasnt been any ratings from real drivers on these winter tires since they are new to the public. but, i have dug some articles from tests performed on them. they seem to be really decent. i'm taking a chance on them!

people living in the snowbelt... what are your brands and have you been happy with them? just curious.

 

Im in the same boat as you. i haven't bought mine yet, but i'm getting 16" steelies with blizzaks ws-60. My new car has kdw's on it, im just guessing but i bet they aren't the best in the snow.

 

weathermaster st's seem to be the tire of choice around here. i think they're ok but i used mastercraft glacier something, work awesome, have triangle like aggresive tread, they're beastly, look almost like a mud tire
