Where / who has the best deal for k04 upgraded turbos for our audis? I recently saw the RP turbos but also stumbled onto a volkswagen site that sells them for 400 with a 1 year warranty. I have a compressor seal that is leaking and need to replace the turbo soon.

VW K04 won't work on a longitude engine like yours.

Those are made in China which is why they are so cheap and dont even look like a borg warner K04. Stick to buying a real BW K04 or the RP version. I think one of the shops is having a RP A4 1.8t turbo GB on another forum. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...8T-NEW-PRODUCT!




Auditech79 - Maybe you forgot but the Passat is a VW and also has a longitude engine. :P

 

I didn't think the passat came with a 1.8T??? I've only seen passats with 2.8L engines, doesn't mean im not full of S$#%* though. Silly mike always trying to make me look stupid....

 

There were definitely Passats with 1.8T engines; I've seen quite a few of them driving around. TBH, I would have considered one over my A4 if I could get past the looks; for some reason, the differences in style between the VW and the Audi really bug me; I love the looks of the A4, but the Passat doesn't work for me at all. Funny how small changes can make a big difference.

Also, finding a Passat 1.8T in 4WD with a manual trans isn't necessarily easy, whereas with the A4, that configuration seems to be a bit more common.

 

The passat has had the 1.8t 20v for nearly as long as the B5 A4 1.8t. The Passat 1.8t dates back to 1996 in europe and then a little after we got it in 97 here in NA. It even came with the AEB motor which is found in the A4 1.8t here in NA from 97-99.5.

Back in 2001 when I went with the PES T28 kit my very first chip I had was one they did in a Passat 1.8t which had the same engine/ECU as my 2000.
