Key setting for just radio?
Hi--Sorry if there has been threads about this. I searched but couldn't find it. Just got my 2002 Audi A4 3.0 and am seeing if there's a key turn setting where just the radio can be on. It seems when I try where it should be, all the dash lights come on as if the car needs to be started. On my other cars, there was an "ACC" setting that would only turn on certain electronics--does Audi have it? Thanks!
there is a key position for it, and its the position where it would be as if you were starting the car, but did not apply the necessary pressure to turn it over. just turn the key forward (not forcefully) until the usual warning lights come on the dash.or just press the "on" button without using the key
either works nicely

Thanks for all the timely and useful posts. On a related issue, I was wondering if all A4 horns do not work if the ignition is not engaged or if the key isn't in. I found out the hard way the day after I bought the car and was waiting in line for an emissions test when a driver in a Forerunner backed into me without looking to try to get into a shorter line. He crunched the front end cosmetically, no mechanical damage and he was fully insured and was apologetic. ($2,500 estimated damage.) Right before he hit, I tried the horn, but since I was parked and didn't have the engine running, it didn't go off. Is this true for all A4's?
Thanks again for all your insights!
