Default Looking to buy a new A4

Hey, i'm a newbie to this forum buying my first car within the next month hopefully. I've been into cars for a long time and have helped many of my friends tune their cars and am looking to finally be able to do that to my own car at last. I am looking to get a '04 1.8tq and just want to go into the serious looking process with particular things to look for. I have looked over the forums quite a bit to see what the main problems are and i have seen that the most commonly recurring ones are the Timing belt and water pump which need replacing around 80K, and the clutch. But i was wondering if there were any other major things that i should look for besides the obvious service records and stuff. Thanksin advance for youradvice.

I bought my a4 with 82k miles on it, now it has 86k and the only things that needed to be looked at were the coil packs, they went out around 83k. but other than that and making sure the oil has been changed every 5k miles with synthetic, i think youre good

was that the '05 A4 1.8t that you got? what would be the best way to check the coil packs if there is a way. Also, i might be getting a car with quite a few miles less than the one your talking about, maybe around 50,000 so what would be the best way to check the wear of these things as it won't be as obvious cuz the wear will be significantly lower

I replaced 4 light bulbs (one in each corner), passenger front and drivers front window regulators, and the transmission seal going to the driveshaft.

I have not done the timeing belt yet though, but for $14,500 i can get it done.
