Default Low Compresion in Cyl One

Hi,
I have a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Automatic 63K Miles

The oil pressure light came on and I had it towed to Audi. It won't start 6995 CA7

Audi said that it is a possible sludge motor and that the tech found no compresion in cylinder #1 8058 CA7. The battery is also very weak and needs replacing.

Audi will not cover it if it is sludge because the previous owner went 3K miles over on an oil change.

Any idea on what I should do or what's wrong?

I know a mechanic who said he will drop the oil pan and replace the screen for me aswell as get any debree that might be in there.

Anything will help
Thanks, NickMyers

If there's no compression and there was no oil pressure it's possible that the ring has been damaged due to a lack of lubrication. Is the car CPO?

If you mean CPO as Certified Pre Owned then no, what's CPO? If its damaged then what are the easiest options to fix it?

Yes, certified pre owned. I was trying to figure out why you expected it to be covered under warranty.

If what i said is the problem, the head would have to come off and the ring would have to be replaced. There would also be a possibility of damage to the cylinder wall, in which case you would probably have to replace the block.

For the warrenty, Audi said that if there was damage from sludge then they had an extended warrenty for it implace. But since the previous owner went 3k miles over on a oil change they said no.

But I get a better understanding now. Were going to work on it this weekend. I'll post how it went. Thanks
