Lowering Springs and Shocks opinions?
I am not looking to "slam" my car, the roads I drive on are pretty decent for the most part but I really don't feel like driving 1 mph over speed bumps or in my driveway. I don't have a huge budget after several thousands in repairs over the last 6 months, and I am a college student so I really don't want to put a whole lot in to the car right now. This is why I was thinking springs and shocks, but which ones are people using that still keep a good solid ride? I don't want to get a cheap $500 kit of no name brand from ebay just to get a 1.5" drop but then it rides like crap. What are your opinions, smooth sporty ride but still a little wheel tuck? I know it has been covered, but there are a lot of people between those times who have dropped their ride or changed their setup, so I was looking for some consumer reviews on different brand combos. Thanks
I was hoping to keep it around $800 because I am also going to have to pay for installation. I saw the ST coilover kit on ecstuning for like about $800 but don't know about the quality of that brand? I was looking at maybe just the h&r sport springs kit with bilstein shocks which is also about that same price but I am going to assume the quality is better. I have heard a lot of people have had decent results with their stock shocks and lowering springs, anyone have any input on that? Not sure if I have standard or sport shocks on my car, how can I tell?
I have red shocks, I tried to do a little research and am pretty sure that means sport suspension? I didn't want to take off my wheel just to read the label and compare model numbers and such. I also looked at some wheel gap pictures from non sport and it looks a lot larger than mine so I am pretty sure I have sport suspension if that helps.
