Hey guys!

I'm new here as I just purchased an 03' Audi A4 3.0 Cabriolet and I'm trying to learn everything there is to know about it. Unfortunately, the car didn't come with the manual so maybe someone here can help me out with these questions:

1. My LCD seems to be working fine as well as the wiper stalk. However, the end buttons are not switching between the different modes of information displayed on the LCD. It remains at Miles to Empty mode. I have tried resetting it via the button under the stalk and it seems to do it but the modes still aren't changing. Any idea why that is?

2. I heard that the 3.0s have the ability to retract the mirrors when alarm is turned on, how do I do that? I am able to manually retract the mirrors by rotating the mirror adjustment switch to face down but I only want it to do it when the alarm is activated.

3. Finally, I also heard that the mirrors in the 3.0s will tilt down when in reverse gear to facilitate parking. Mine doesn't seem to do that. How can I activate that?

I can only help on #3. Turn the mirror switch to the mirror you want to set, put transmission in reverse, set mirror to tilt down, shift back to forward and it should go back to where it was before. In order for it to work you need to leave the switch turned to the active mirror. I don't have this feature but wish I did.

 

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and I'm still only able to get the passenger mirror to tilt down when in reverse. The driver mirror won't budge. Also, for some odd reason, I am now only able to retract the driver mirror when switching the mirror adjustment **** all the way to the back. The passenger side mirror isn't retracting. I must of accidentaly disprogrammed something.

BTW, is there a way to reset all default settings to factory? That probably would make things a lot easier.

 

I am pretty sure only one mirror tilts down in reverse, whichever one it selected. There may be some vag-com changes you can make, check out the Ross Tech site.

I just discovered that only the passenger mirror can tilt down in reverse. Apparently it is intended only for parallel parking. I wish both of them would so that backing up into tight corners would be easier.

I still haven't been able to get anything other than the Miles to Empty on my onboard computer. I have tried resetting it via the bottom button on the stalk, holding the ends of the stalk, etc. Is there a way to restore the entire vehicle to factory defaults? I heard that you can remove onboard options so that you don't have to cycle through many items. Maybe the owner before me disabled all of them but the Miles to Empty one.

Finally, I still haven't been able to get my passenger side mirror to fold. It worked fine the day before yesterday and all of a sudden it stopped. The driver's side if functioning perfectly.

Oh, one more thing, for some reason my passenger lumbar and back rest auto seat adjustments aren't working. The seat is able to move back and forth, but the other two buttons aren't working. Could it be a blown fuse? How do I know if a fuse is blown? Also, how expensive would it be to have it fixed?
