Default Need help replacing coil pack & plugs

Gentlemen, your wisdom and expertese is much needed and incredibly appreciated!!! As my girl and I were driving out to dinner in my 02' A4 1.8T Quattro, my MIL started blinking. Next thing I notice, my idle recieved a kick in the giggle berries and car started vibrating. It would get worse with higher acceleration and working up the gears. After about 2 hours of reading I'm fairly confident it's the coil pack. I am also planning on cleaning the MAF sensor and checking the spark plugs as well. No here is my dilemma, I have yet to tinker under the hood with this car.

Engine coils - Coil Packs (diagnose/replace)
All the how-to forums explain popping off the cover and simply checking and replacing but can't find any pictures. Do any of you have an image/picture on this process??? Can I easily just pop off the cover or do I need a torque set to get 'er off?

MAF sensor (clean)
Same situation. I know I have to remove the airbox and take some stuff apart, but not sure the exact process.

Plugs
What tools will I need to replace mine with NGK BK6RE (recommended by krystallbluea4) and is it a simple process???

Again, can't thank you all enough!!!!!

Here is what I found about the MAF;

The MAF is located under the snorkel leading to the airbox. Follow the air intake from the front grille into the engine bay about a foot or something. Just below it on the right side you will see a plug. That is the plug for the MAF. To confirm you've got the right part, on both sides of the plug there are these tamper proof screws. They require a 5-point tool (like a torx but with 5 not 6 points) that has a hole in the center.

Google A4Mods.

Pretty sure it has pics on changing the coil packs. Pretty much plug and play so to speak.

Bombguy... You rock! This is exactly what I've been on the search for. It's pouring rain here and no garage or covering to start replacing the coil packs. I was only able to purchase 1 for now and going to attempt process of elimination tomorrow morning.

I really don't want to spend $90 just to it diagnosed and codes read. Is purchasing a $50 code reader simple to plug in a use for a novice?

What would be some indications of a malfunctioning or damaged coil pack look like?

So this morning after taking off the engine cover I noticed #3 coil pack was elevated about 3/4" higher than all the rest. Once removed it looked horrible. Couldn't remove the spark plug but it looked wrecked also.

What would cause a coil to raise???

Appears there is a recall for all coil packs for 01-07. Sitting at Audi awaiting results of the diagnostic ($119.00) and the free recall inspection. They said it's $99.00 for the spark plugs... Ha!!!

Nice!! "engine misfire" was the issue so they are replacing the coils for free and recommended changing the spark plugs. I said I'd do that myself, thanks.

it will take you about 5 minutes to change the spark plugs, just make sure you have a spark plug socket. coils pop up a lot, you just have to push them back down.

Or get rid of those crap bag Bremi coils and buy a set of bolt down Hitachi packs. They also make a coil pack hold down bracket online if you "wanted" to run the push down packs.

Make sure that you cant get them replaced because of the recall. I just had mine done a month ago from a dealship that I didnt buy the car from. They even gave me a rental car.
