Default Need Some advice from you experts

I bought a 2003 1.8T A4 2.5 years ago as a CPO and now I am really upside down on it and out of warranty. My question and request for advice is the following; should I trade in and take a $5K-6K hit on the transaction just to have the piece of mind of having a warranted car or should I trust that my faithful A4 will get me through till the loss is less or I break even. I know these cars are great and can go without many issues but I know many of you have much more experience with them than I.

The car has 87K miles on it and I did the timing belt kit change at 75K, just had new brakes put on like 5K miles ago, and do my oil changes religiously with either Mobil1 or Pentosin High Performance Synthetic every 5K miles. I also want to know what other kind of preventative work I can do to make sure I do not run into major issues in the next year to year and a half. BTW the only performance parts installed on the car is an Evolution Motorsports Intake and a vent mounted turbo gauge. Other than that - everything else is stock.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Oz

How much do you like your car? How much $ is in your bank acct? (Retorical Q's)

If you really like your car and rather spend your money elsewhere or save it just keep the car and do as you've done with the maintainence (I swear that's the hardest word to spell). Also check your CV boot and all your hoses consistantly to make sure there's no wear n tear on them. Besides the t-belt nothing else will really be disasterous on an A4. The internals only blow up when pushed beyond their limits and you're not even chipped so don't worry about it. I say your car is reliably set for a while w/o repairs. But if you're ballin I'd go reserve the B8 asap!!!

BTW if you keep it chip the damn thing!

2002-2004 is the worst year for the A4. You need to get rid of it. It will cost you way more than the 5,000.00 hit you'll take for a trade in.

i'll guarantee you have many things wrong w/ your car they never told you cause it was under warranty. Now its not. The next time you bring it in the will give you a laundry list of problems, all legit too.

Trust me I work for Audi. A car out of warranty is like christmas

The sky isn't falling. It's not like that at all. I have an 02 with timing belt done by me and some friends at 75k. I take car to do the 10k services so they have records of all oil changes in case of sludge (it all looks good, though. I also did seafoam at 60k-65k range). Sounds to me like this guy cares for his car well, like me, and I think he'll be just fine. I have no intentions of getting rid of my car and have the utmost faith in it.

Ok, now I'm scared. I was going to look at a 202 A4 Quattro tomorrow. Should I go back to looking for a 2000-2001? I was kind of hyped about the newr look.... Damn!!!

How did you come up to the conclusion that 02-04 are the worst?

And please define "worst". I love my 03. Yeah things break, but after some of the other vehicles I have owned, at least this one has performance upgrades for just about everything that needs to be replaced.

Yes, please go into more detail about the 2002-2003 problems! I am about to close a deal on a 2002 A4 3.0. It has 89k miles on it.

Disagree completely, and if you'd check the B6 owners on audiworld and audizine and audigeeks, I think they'd back it up, too.
