Default Need Some Buying Advice!

Saw two A4's today I liked:

1. 2003, 1.8T, 66,000 miles, charcoal/black, very nice. small scrape on right rear wheel well, don't know how much it would cost to fix/repaint. Interior like new. Bose speakers. Very nice car. $9000 (This is negotiated down, I think it's as low as they will go -- a used car dealer)

1. 2003, 3.0, 91,000 miles, charcoal/black. Rear bumper scraped -- wonder how much to replace this plastic part. Interior nice. Aftermarket touchscreen audio controller, Bose speakers. Nice car, of course great acceleration. $9000.

(I also saw a BMW I liker for $9200)

So the question really is -- 1.8 with 65000 miles, or 3.0 with 91000 miles?

Thanks everyone so much!

Default tiiming belt? brakes?

the 66k one will need the timing belt/water pump etc soon. The 90+k should have already had that done

I have an 03 w.89k on it that I bought 6 months ago, had the coilpaks replaced under warranty and a vacuum hose done....timing belt etc as well as new brakes and rotors and tires were done before I bought it, love the car. mileage is not so good for a 4cyl but these little suckers weigh close to two tons and the laws of physics always win! buy it, not with the CVT from what I have heard, and find a good mechanic!

Default More Info -- sorry I left this stuff out

1. Neither one is Quattro
2. Both are automatic

Here are the links to the ads for both. Thanks so much for the free advice!

stay away, I did not know they were CVT's......a quattro will come along soon and you won't have the problems....won't cost much more....

Doesn't that only apply to the 3.0 FWD?

What does the shifter look like on a CVT? Because the one on the 3.0 pictures looks exactly like a TIP shifter.
