Default New to Audi

Hello all,

I am in the process of purchasing an Audi and I have a few questions. I am planning on buying a 2005 Audi A4 3.0 with the 6 speed and 46500 miles on it. The car is in immaculate shape with the exception of the front bumper which has been chipped to all hell. I was wondering if anybody here had their bumper painted, and if so how much did it cost? Also what maintenance should have been preformed on this vehicle by this point, and does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should look for when test driving it?

Thanks,
Moxer

3.0 ? Nice, You will probably have the door blades, heated seats, cruise control and a lot of other goodies! I don't know about the bumper, I'm planning on redoing my car due to road crap but haven't really got an estimate yet...

Yeah, this car was a good find. It has the Bose sound system, sports package, HID's, memory seats, etc. It was owned by somebody who is mechanically inclined and ran it on synthetic to prevent the sludge issue. Cheap too, I'm getting it for 15k.

Don't know the cost about bumper re-paint, but it really depends on where you go for the job. Some shops charge more and some shops charge less...

46500 miles isn't too bad. I will just do an oil change, air filter/cabin filter change, and replace the fuel filter for now.

Done right (i.e., bumper removal, refinish, re-paint), you could be looking at $300-500. Alternately, a bra covers a lot of blemishes and will protect from future damage (and prevents your headlights from sagging). I know my A6 has a Colgan -- just not sure what mfr for the A4 but I bought it online and it fits/looks great.
