Can yall help me get that wiplash feeling again?
Don't mean to sound like a dick but if you want that feeling again, sell the tip and get a 1.8T or 2.0T MANUAL TRANNY, Chip it, bigger injectors, Turbo and exhaust in that order and you'll have your feeling

If it is a DSG gearbox, correct. If it is an automatic transmission with selectable shifting, incorrect (if its what I am thinking of, there is a delay from you telling it to shift and it shifting, my roommate had a car with that kind of automatic once). I'm not sure which one would be in your car as I have had zero interest in *matic transmissions since I learned what a car was, so I never really looked into them. As an aside, could someone enlighten me as to the efficiency/power-loss of an automatic versus a standard, and if I ameven close to rightin assuming a DSG gearbox is essentially a hydraulically controlled manual with 2 "clutches" (but no clutch pedal)?

I wouldnt give up my clutch+2500RPM launch any day though, I demand full control over my vehicle, ESP be damned.

In response to people wanting to know about the sound, I got a Carbonio CAI and on a bone stock A4 1.8T, you can hear the diverter valve with windows closed. It doesnt sound anything like a BOV(to be fair, a *riced* car with a BOV, as all I have heard is the pissy little civics rolling around town with bolt-on turbos and BOVs for comparison).

Sadly those pissy little civics cant keep up, for shame...

Also, the 1.8T's ECU is smart (on B6 A4s as I understand it at least), it will learn that you have a BOV. In a matter of days it will be fully acclimated to the lost air. This seems to be the general concensus of the board thus far and that is what I am basing that informationon. I do *not* want or intend to start another DV vs BOV argument, so please disreguard what I said if you feel I am wrong, or clarify.

xSilent13x, I was wondering (as I am getting ready to chipmy car),did they have to remove your ECU or did they just plug in to the OBD-II port and re-flash it. My understanding is they can do that on the 1.8T's ECU... I'm trying to decide if I trust some tuner shop 30 miles from here or if I will indeed go carless while I ship the ECU to APR... Also, did you get the injectors too (Stage 1+) or did you just get the chip (Stage 1)?

Chipping is easy if the place you're going to chip it at is local..... if it's not then you have to send the ECU to said establishment. If it is local then it won't take more than 1 hour to reflash the ecu and you're off and running. I personally don't like sending anything off by mail... You are here, they are THERE. If you have any problems the distance just adds to it.

With regards to the Manual vs automatic, I have yet to find an auto tranny that will shift exactly when you want it to. Furthermore, they suck more gas due to the fact that you have to literally bury the gas pedal to have some control over the shifting. I've tried tip and quite honestly, don't like it on an audi... Tried it on a 07 Hyundai Sonata and I loved it!!!! Maybe I'll make that my winter car lol. My take is, if it's gonna be an expensive European car AND you're a car guy, you'd be a moron to not get in in manual. Just my 2 cents.

i just got back from the shop with new APR tuned chip.....BIG difference in HP and throttle responce. They took out the ECU then programmed it on a seperate chassis. One thing that happened as i went on the onramp of the highway i floored it.....kinda stupid on my part since one of my coilpacks crapped out. They tech's told me someproblems will show with the chip tuned that wouldnt show with a stock chip for a little while. (no biggie since i heard packs were always crap by audi....so says the techs). yes the injectors were swapped for the 1+ stage, might as well.

I wish, I'm actually looking into getting a stage 3 clutch, if I blow my current one, I can get a new one, woohoo!

I figure stage 3 because then it'll never let go, but I'll admit, once I chip it I'm going to want something better whether it really helps or not...

everywhere I look they are like $1500+ but I found them for like $500~ on one site, I'll find a link...

wow, found it sooner than I thought:

http://www.speedlifemotorsport.com/drivetrain5.html

they have a lot of stuff there, thats where I bought my Carbonio from, and where I will probably be buying my Injectors ($400, I talked to the guy there, I didn't see them on the site though), short throw shift, snub motor mount, and anything else I want that they have, highly recommended by me.

$539 for the stage 3 (450ft-lbs) clutch + $80 for a lightweight flywheel... $400 for a stage 1 that holds 310 ft-lbs... all are ready to mount to a stock flywheel and tranny though...

Anyone have any thoughts on brands there, anything I should get, etc?

They have stuff for a lot of different Audis there though, and V-Dub too.
