Default New to Audi... Need So HELP!!

Hi y'all

so im new to the audi world.. sumwat.. im in the process of buying a 2004 A4 B6 1.8tq.. the car has about 68k miles.. while looking at the car are there any specific places i should look at or check to make sure the car is in the best shape and make sure everything is up to par.. so i would not have to put money in it right away!

Thanks for the help

MAKE SURE THE
PRNDS are not flashing on the Display
THIS IS A £2000 Repair Cost

I bought a car where it was flashing, and now im stuck with it and with the repair costs

Always Always get a diagnosis done by an Audi Specialist, or a Car Garage that knows about audis and VWs

I know this is simple things but I just dont want u to go through what i went through

Ask if the timing belt has been done yet; if it hasn't, it's just about due (usually recommended between 70K and 80K miles). This can be a $1000+ job, depending on where you take the car, as it's many hours of labor and a not insignificant amount in parts. If it hasn't been done yet, you should be able to negotiate the price down based on the upcoming expense, and if it has, then you know you're in good shape - either way, you want to know.

Edit: heh, I see you own an '01 Jetta 1.8T, so I guess you probably knew this bit of advice already, but eh, doesn't hurt to put it out there I guess.

I had the Audi dealer check mine, a beautiful 2003 A4, 3.0L, only 55,000 miles. Gave me the thumbs up, no problems. With joy and anticipation I bought it. A month later the Audi dealer told me the transmission has internal damage and needs to be replaced $8000estimated repair cost. The moral of the story, don't trust Audi dealer. Find someone who can check the transmission, which is not an easy task.
