Default New Oil already black??

Ok so I've always changed the oil myself. I use Synthetic oil and the big filter etc... But a week ago or not even that..., I changed the oil and the next day I did a oil level check and noticed it was slightly past the full amount. So I knew I needed to drain a little. Well being finals in school and what not I wasn't able to until today. Also last night the CEL came on when my wife was driving it... Would that be from having too much oil? The car drives like normal. When idling it idles very slightly rough when you first start it.. So I guess my questions are:
1- Is the CEL light probably from the oil level? Or is it possible catalytic converter prob?
2- When I drained a little oil today, the oil was almost pure black already?? What the... Or I am just not understanding? Shouldn't it be the usual new oil color still? Or do I have a sludge issue or something?

No worries man the oil being black actually is a good sign. It means its doing its job. I was initially concerned myself when I noticed that(this is the first car I've noticed it on, my hondas stay golden even after a couple thousand miles). I did some research and found that it supposed to be doing that.
As far a little too much oil causing the cel, slightly(slightly is a relative term however) over although not recommended and should be prevented if possible it is really nothing that would typically cause a cel(I'm speaking within a 1/8th to 1/4qt at most). I usually put in about 4 3/4 qts and its always slightly above the line.
You can bring your car to an autozone, advanced autoparts, checker, oreilly etc. and they usually have a generic OBDII scanner free to use that could point you to what is causing the cel.

In short oil's color has little to nothing to do with its actual condition. I'll add links to this post as I find them to put your mind at ease.

I was planning on going to autozone first and I did and it brought up code P0171. Which says that the fuel system for bank 1 was too lean. So my options were my mass air flow sensor, oxygen sensor, or fuel injector. So last night I took my MAF off and cleaned it with alcohol and put it back on this morning and it actually didn't idle rough at first, but after a few minutes it was back to the sputtering... So I guess its not that... I;m guessing its the O2 sensor then? Or anyone had this problem or know? I probably won't do it myself cuz of time and what not... Unless they charge a crap load. I don't go to a dealer though.

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body yet?

No well I'm not so sure how to do that... I'm learning on pretty much everything with this car... All my last cars were pretty old... How would I go about doing that? I'll do a little research but if you got a quick DIY advice by any means!...

Aiit so I was just looking around and with the engine on and found out it is a hose thats leaking air. Its a small one on top near the battery wall. I stopped at a couple auto parts store places and they say to get that at the dealer because it has to be flexible... So gotta run to the Stealership... I hope that the hose is the only problem....
