New upper and lower control arms, caster way off
2005 A4 Quattro 3.0L 125k miles
Had some creaking and knocking up front so I replaced the upper and lower control arms and the Tie-rod ends. In order to remove the bolts in the rear lower control arms I had to loosen the sub-frame bolts that are just behind where the lower control arm connects. Somehow in the process the caster on the front wheels is different causing some tracking issues on snow and ice.
I have an appointment for an alignment but not until next week and would like to get this figured out before then. From searching there is not really a specific adjustement for caster, but you can do some by changing the sub-frame position. Without the special Audi tool is there a way that I can get the caster adjusted close. I'm not even sure if the shop that will do the alignment would know how to do this. They have done an alignment on this car before.
