Default New Wheels trying to find good 18" tires for them help!

Hey all,

Friend gave me 18" x 8" Konigs, would these fit alright on my 2003 Audi A4?
Brought them to a Tire place and the guy said he needs to know more information from Audi or something... exactly what kind of tires etc etc i'd even need ?? That he doesn't know what would work for my turn radius etc.

Confused i honestly know nothing about tires =/

Anyone give any advice?
The wheels are 4/5lug Konigs 18.5" with the Lip.

Only advice i've been given from a friend is to get some kind of 225/40 zr18 tires. Which means almost nothing to me, anyone have something similar on their 18"s on the A4 B6?

Thanks in advance!

hmm the guy at the tire store told u that? Really odd wouldnt the with of the rim determine turn radius. I would imagine u just match a tire to the rim. I run 245-35-19 general exclaim uhp's. No rubbing or nothing. MIght give u some direction.

The 18's will fit inside the fenders fine, but is it the right bolt pattern and offset? What were the wheels on?

You might want to dry fit them on your car before you go buying a set of tires...just in case they don't fit.

+1 for the General Exclaim UHP's by the way. Great tire, good grip wet or dry and pretty cheap.

PLenty of room for 19's u can even squeeze 20's but they will run on bumps.

The wheels were on a Jetta before, they have 4 & 5 bolt patterns inside of them.

What does offset refer too? Right now i simply have the stock 15" Audi wheels on, no lowering etc. My friend was saying that since they fit no problem on the Jetta they should easily on this car.

My biggest problem is that even looking at Tirerack etc i have no idea what size i'm supposed to be being i don't understand the numbers etc... 240zr 18 yadayada =/

I Just looked at the tires on my current 15" stock wheels,
205/65r/15 - If this helps with anything...

245/45zr/18 100W UHP sound about right for anyone with 18 x 8" wheels?
Lets say this one for example
http://www.vulcantire.com/cgi-bin/ti...1&kw={keyword}

Looks rather low profile, what i'm going for.

A lower profile would be nice...
225/45/18 would work nicely too was just looking at my fathers G35 he has 225/45/18 in the front, 245 in the rear. Only thing i'm getting confused at is that his are also both different widths, rear ones wider obviously.

Not sure if thats what the 100W stands for? For 8" width wheels not sure what i'd need there then
