Hi all,

I am a proud owner of my first Audi since Dec 31, 2010. As you can see from my sig, it's an '03 with about 110k, so it has a few miles, but looks to be very well taken care of previously. I've only had one previous car, being a '97 Mitsu Eclipse GS (non-turbo) purchased new and lasted almost 14 years with very little going wrong with it during its time. I think the only "major" replacement needed was a head gasket 6 years into owning it.

Both immediate and extended family members have almost always bought Japanese in the past, but I'm converted.

In reading posts in these forums and on audizine, I think my first objective is to get the engine checked for sludge in the near future. Otherwise, I would appreciate any other advice for a new Audi B6 owner, for those willing to give it.

Also, I would be interested to know if my car is a "sport package" and how to tell. The car does have 17" rims, though I'm not sure if that tells completely.

VIN: WAUL68E33A223538 if anyone can find out more. Much appreciated!

hello there and welcome. congrats on the purchase of your fine audi. i love my audi.

as for the sludge issue. just be sure to always use good synthetic engine oil that is VW approved. look on the back of the bottle for the specification. i prefer mobil 1 0W-40.

would you know if the timing belt has been changed yet? if not, it would be recommended. alot of people get the water pump changed at the same time. after that, both will be good for another 10 years.

@esandes

Thanks for the warm welcome! I will definitely check to see if the timing belt has been changed, although would be surprised and disappointed if it hasn't already been done.
