So I was leaving a parking garage yesterday and heard a clunk, and then the power steering quit working. I had checked the fluid level a few days before, and it was fine but when I checked after it the noise, it ws way over full! So I drove it home, the pump wasn't making any noise, but the P/S was working at speeds of 25-40 mph and intermitanly at lower speeds. Is there a servo or something in the P/S system that has gone bad?

 

i would just say its the pump. if the pump is gone bad... you will lose the power steering. and at higher speeds it will seem as it "works" but its just the force and speed of the car giving you the help
