Exclamation Normal on an Audi?

New to the Audi family. Anyways sometimes I drive in S mode just to feel that extra boost of power. If I hammer on the gas my RPMS occasionally skip up to about 5500, I'm thinking maybe that my trans is slipping but others have said thats normal with the Quattro A4's. BTW I have a 2005 A4 1.8TQ s-line.

Also just changed spark plugs to the NGK V-POWER and noticed my car have a delayed start this morning (took a few seconds to turn over instead of instantly). Could this be that my spark plugs weren't tightened to exactly 22 foot pounds or gapped incorrectly?

Thanks in advance!

It is sport mode. The gear configurations are tuned to allow you a more responsive feel. For example if your going 30mph your car is in 2nd gear right around 3k RPMs so when you press on the gas you've got that higher end power. Very fun I have a few friends that ONLY drive in S mode

.032. Only had the problem once with starting in like 8 starts. Also the transmission thing was going on a few times before changing the spark plugs

when you smash on the gas and the RPMs go up does it catch and take off or does it sit at high RPMs for a sec and then slowly go back down before it speeds up? Also does it only do it when you take off or when you are already driving?
