Default OBX exhaust.... Opinions????

Hey guys,

The exhaust on my B6 is finally done (Well the resonator Y pipe and straight tube is) and i figure since a repair is in order I have 2 choices;

Replace the whole thing with a stainless steel OBX exhaust which I hear is a lot of bang for your buck and it`s stainless steel so it will last

OR

Patch up the exhaust leaks. Cheaper yes but I`d be doing that every few years.

Anyone here have any experience with OBX Exhaust systems??? How did you like the fit and sound???

not sure on performance or sound. i'm always a fan of the saying, you get what you pay for, but sometimes you **** your pants on a steal. if it were for a civic, i would say go ahead. but for as touchy as audi's can be, i would go for something that is a bit higher quality and has higher recommendations from other german car drivers. i.e.- apr. i know they are pricey but quality comes with a price tag. also, if you have a local exhaust shop, they could probably fabricate and install one custom for you.

check on youtube. You will hear alot of different exaust with different tunes and setups. Most guys go with just the magnaflow 14851. they sound nice with the right tune. Real throaty.

Well guys I went ahead and ordered it. The way I see it, I need a new exhaust anyway soooooo.....

also, it is a MUCH better price than Magnaflow or Borla and since no one here really has an opinion of OBX I'll post mine when it is installed. Cheers and thanks for the replies. Stay tuned!!!

P.S. the night I created this thread I was on youtube comparing sounds. It sounds pretty good to be honest.

I chipped it with a Eurodyne reflash stage 1 at Tapp Auto here in Ottawa. Aside from the latest set of coil packs and the 710N diverter valve, it is stock. Still though, she is pretty fast.

Also, I'm not really looking to pimp it out or anything. The exhaust came about out of necessity and I do plan to eventually slap some 18 inch rims on but for now it's the exhaust system and fixing that stupid Rhino plug leak.

I tell you, if it's not one thing with these cars, it's another. I like it but sometimes I miss the worry free days of my Nissan lol.
