I have never got low oil level before and don't normally change the oil myself but I need to add like a quart or 2 in and I'm not sure what kind. My last maintance slip from dealer says that they used 5w-30 so I bought couple of Castrol Syntec Blend (part synthetic) but now I'm not sure and I think I need full synthetic. So my question is can I use this or should I exchange it and what brand do you recommend. Thx

 

If you have to add 2 quarts I think you might have a leak somewhere.
anyhow I think you should use Full Synthetic. I use Mobil 1. Try 0W-40 or 5W-40 Mobil 1

Audi says castrol fully synthetic 5W40 only! Nothing else!

Use the Pentosyn 0W-40. It's the best. ECS Tuning sells it by the gallon.

 

Any oil on the approved list is fine. Castrol syntec and mobil 1 are the 2 easiest to find.

You should be checking your oil every week!

 

hmm I thought M1 was the only approved 0w40.....But yes, 5w40 full synthetic and look on the back of the bottle. It needs to say VW 502.00 at least

 

I used Mobil 1 0W-40 only and that is one of the apporved oil on the owner'smanual.
