Default Oil Pressure Light

I posted a question today regarding an Oil Service Light. I should have rather asked about the Oil Pressure Light. It comes up in the message center in the middle of the dash. It comes on occasionally and then goes out. Thoughts? Thanks!

bad news... probably sludge, you might try getting some seafoam immediatly and running it in there for about 50 miles (dont drive too hard) then draining it and putting fresh oil/filter then i would do the autorx treatment... but it might be too late..

Thanks for the reply! What is the seafoam and autorx of which you speak? What also do you mean too late...? I hesitate to ask...

search sludge (1.8t engines are known to sludge up without regular oil changes which are needed every 5k along with the larger capacity oil filter and full syn oil)

seafoam can be picked up at autozone or anywhere pretty much... its a cleaner used in the crankcase, fuel and vac system... pour 1/3 or 1/2 can in the crankcase and drive about 50 miles but not agressively then drain the oil and put fresh oil/filter, it should eat up some sludge

autorx is strictly a sludge treatment, it must be bought online and is a longer term treatment... a few people on audizine have taken off their valve covers after doing the autorx and they are very very clean... thats only a indication there could still be sludge below

it could also be the sensor or oil pump failing or pickup screen becoming clogged

if its too late... you will know when your engine seizes

Thanks for the info! The strange thing is that there are no sounds, or leaks, or anything out of the ordinary. I went to the Audi dealer a few minutes ago and the service manager confirmed about the issue. I am scared to drive the darn thing now, however. He said it probably isnt a major issue and I could drive it until they can get me in on the 22nd. Thoughts?

dont drive your car if the light comes up pretty often or if it stays solid for some time.
