The check engine light came on recently on my daughter's A4 3.0 MT6. The code is P0704 with description "clutch switch input circuit malfunction" and "clutch pedal input circuit malfunction". Search turned up one post, no answers, and I PMed the poster. Any ideas what causes this, is it dangerous to drive the car, and how and how much to fix it?

 

My clutch switch doesn't work, I got no CEL though so I don't have the code. If it's just the clutch pedal switch I'd say change it, is right there next to the brake light pedal switch, well not right next to it but around the same area.
