Default Persisting Min. Level Oil Light

Hi All,

I hope someone can advise. I am having trouble with a persisting orange minimum level oil light, which when reset, always comes on again around the 60 mile mark. I have been to several mechanics and autoelectricians and they cannot find the problem.

As a bit of background, this first occurred immediately after an oil change as part of an annual service. There has also been excessive exhaust smoke since. The oil was rechanged and levels are normal.

I have read that there is a possibility that this could be related to a bonnet latch fault, or alternatively sludge due to incorrect/bad oil. It seems timely with the error immediately following a service. Naturally, that mechanic has washed their hands of the problem.

Please help, as I cannot afford to take the car to an Audi specialist, as I plan to sell it.

White smoke... nothing too sinister. There is a burning smell, but I have noticed quite a lot of oil on the top of the engine, which could be the culprit for that.
