lol, apparently should be 1st on the list! thanx guys.
Chip+Injectors will run you about $900 (I recommend APR for a chip as you can get multiple programs, like stock for normal power, valet for reduced power which is great on ice, and high power 93 octane, 245HP/275lb-ft), DV will run you $100(ish) as the stock diverter valve is weak. You CAN go blowoff valve, assuming you have one of the MAP equipped cars, and since you are in the B6 section I am going to go ahead and say you are good with that. Then I'd get coil packs at about $30 a piece times 4, any revision is fine, E is "economy" and lasts longer, "R" is racing but dies a lot faster (and that is all guesswork, finding the right coilpack is like finding the right lotto ticket, though I will say if you need to buy them from a dealer, go to VW, they are identical to the Audi part but about $10-$15 cheaper a pack). The deciding factor is usually heat. If you need an air filter, I spent $350 on a Carbonio filter, the only one proven NOT to reduce horsepower, as the stock airbox on an Audi is decidedly one of the best available, ask around or search here. Other than Chip, Injectors, DV/BOV, and coilpacks (keep the old ones in the trunk), you really don't need much else for a winter driver. Have fun with it and enjoy it, and don't deny it track time.
Also, keep a couple grand set aside for the inevitable trips to the dealer. Timing belt I would recommend doing by 80K, its about $500-600 for the parts from ECSTuning.com if you do it yourself and do everything. You can get away with $300 or so for parts. Audi dealerships have to inspect it for free at your next service interval due to a class action lawsuit, I would take advantage of that (but of course they are going to say needs replacement to eliminate liability, all boils down to who you trust, but it extends some kind of warranty or AoA will pay for engine damage related to failure or something like that).
I can't really help more without knowing year/engine (well, 1.8T probably), quattro or not, auto/stick, etc.
Also, go buy a JHM Shortie Shifter from here:

Greatest thing ever, and the quality is top notch, all metal parts, etc. They have installation videos as well, not just crappy instructions. Great for people like me... lol
