Power drops out a 2k RPM
Hi all. I got my first Audi, an '04 A4 Q 1.8T in Feb. and I love it. No problems until about a week ago. It has about 55k miles. Lately, when taking off from a stop, sometimes, at around 2000 RPM, it lags greatly. In fact, when the power drops away, I can push the pedal to the floor and nothing happens. It stays about 2500 RPM with no acceleration. There is no CEL or anything. When this does happen, if I take my foot completely off the pedal and then back on, it accelerates as it should. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks
I've still been driving it around, and it seems to happen after some hitting a bump or going around a corner. For example, just today I was sitting at a red light. When the light changed and I started to accelerate, I went over some RR tracks while in 2nd gear at about 1800 rpm. As soon as I hit the bump, the rpm's stopped increasing and held steady at 1800...no more acceleration. I moved my foot up and down on the pedal, without ever coming all the way off, and it had no effect. Even when the pedal was to the floor, the engine never moved past 1800. As soon as my foot came all the way off and then back on, it accelerated normally.
Maybe a bad connection on something? Any thoughts?
Thanks

So tonight i drove about 200 miles, mostly all highway. My mileage is significantly lower than it used to be for long highway trips. Also, since it was dark, I could clearly see the reflection of my center brake light. I noticed that maybe 10% of the times i used the brakes, when i would come off of the brake and on to the gas, the brake lights would stay on until i tapped the brakes again.
I don't know how, or even if, all of this is related.
Thanks!

Yesterday I had it looked at. Of course, it wouldn't replicate the failure while hooked up to the scan tool. There were 2 codes though, 19497 and 18613. I was told both of the codes deal with data failure from temp sensors. The mechanic suggested that if there is a data transmission failure, it might be causing the computer to freeze momentarily. Does this sound plausible?
Thank you
Thank you
I have the exact same problems as you dsstultz it usually happens on the hwy just going normal 50-60 mph all of the sudden seems like the fuel cuts off I have to let go of the gas pedal completely then reapply. It began happening once in a blue now it seems like once a day. I've tried searching and searching but found nothing.
Does anyone know of this problem. Thanks
