Default Question about HID conversion

I was wondering if there was information on completing the HID conversion on an 04 A4. I already have the projector headlights, but the bulbs are only halogen. Some kits claim that they do not set off the "check low beam message". What is that about? Thanks for your replies.

What kits have people used with good success? I am looking for a cheaper, yet reasonable kit. Thanks.

I got VVME kit for like $100 this last summer but now they are like $80 on their website or $70 on Ebay (same kit). I like them.

I got the OEM Valeo Balasts. Work perfectly obviously, bolt directly to the housing and you don't have to screw with wiring them to the battery etc.

I installed a VVME kit and have mixed review on them. Their customer service is awful. The quality of the parts in the kit is marginal at best. I burnt out a bulb a week after getting the kit and had to pay $35 to get one shipped without having to send the defective one back and wait a few weeks for them to look it over and acknowledge that their bulb was defective. Would I buy from them again? Nope. There are better kits on the market. They cost more, but the quality is there. As we all know, you get what you pay for.

Have there been any issues when using the aftermarket kits as far as throwing codes, or check low beam codes?

I would be interested to see how the beam pattern is on the stock halogen projector with a HID light in it. A lot of people go on about how it will no be right and the projectors are different etc, but I have a sneeking suspision that it will be just fine.

I think the beam pattern would be fine as well. It's just that one or two companies that sell the HID kits claim that their kit will not trip the "check low beam" code. Has anyone had this problem with one of the cheaper kits? Or at all? Thanks
