Do these fit directly onto an A4 without modification?

Depends on which ones you get. OE ones fit right on. Two minute operation. But $$$.
Ebay ones have to be glued on and body work done. They suck and you end up spending just as much when it's all done. |

Yes the OEM S4 fit on just like your stock ones. We sell them all the time and I even have 2 of them in stock.
