Default Serpentine Belt - Can I drive...

Thanks in advance for you suggestions! Can I drive roughly 2 miles to the shop in my wife's 2002 A4 3.0 with no serpentine belt? I realize I won't have any power steering and the alternator won't be charging but will I make it? Will it die? Will I mess it up even more? Thanks again.

Drove my RX-7 about 50 miles on the battery when the alternator pooped out on me. If your battery is ok you should be fine.

Yes, the only bad thing is that backpressure from the steering is probably going to develop a leak on your power steering pump or reservoir, just look out for it afterwards. To be honest for 2 miles I don't think anything bad is going to happen...

Default Thanks everyone!

I made it to the shop with no problems. They replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner. She runs great again. Thanks again for the suggestions.

so you should know that rotary engines are the replacement for displacement.

Not really... your up to what? 3 cylinders now in the effort to keep up? Hmm.. seems like more displacement to me

Nope. Rev happy, good power...not a damn bit of torque...rotor seals that blow out way too easy.
