Should I bleed my clutch?
I just put in a new clutch in my 02 a4 1.8t.
fwd. The pedal releases at the same hight as the worn out clutch. So my question is if I bleed the clutch will my pedal grab right off the floor or should I just leave it alone.
Thanks

If the pedal is stiff and releases fine, there is no need to bleed the clutch. Bleeding audi clutches are bar none some of the hardest in the world to do, so i wouldn't try it yourself if you wanted to do it.
The height the pedal engages is determined by the clutch disc thickness and pressure plate, not the clutch fluid. You would only need to bleed it if it feels spongy or didn't engage correctly.

if you put in another stock clutch or OFE HD it will engage about the same as before, like the tech said, changing the pressure plate or clutch disc will affect the engagement point, i installed an FE SS by southbend and now my engagement point is right at the floor. bleeding the clutch should only have to be done when u bleed the brakes or put in new brake fluid, its a pain to bleed the clutch too! but since they all run off the same master ya gotta do it
Ok cool. The only reason why I asked is cause after I did the job the pedal seemed to be grabbing right off of the floor and it slowly got higher ,but thanks for the help much appreciated.
