Should I buy a 2002 or 2001 1.8T 5 Speed?
Hey, I'm in the market for an Audi A4 1.8T 5 Speed. Based on my budget I can afford a 2001 or 2002 model, I know they are different designs. I will probably buying a car with about 75-80K miles on it depending on how much the cars cost. However, I only plan to keep the car for about a year so I will be putting about 30K miles max on the car, and mostly highway miles at that. Based solely on reliability and quality, would a 2001 be recommended or a 2002? I would prefer a 2002 model but obviously the 2001s are cheaper. I've driven both and I like both about the same so it's just a matter of reliability. How are do the turbos and transmissions hold up in the 1.8L motors(in both B5 and B6)? And generally, are these reliable machines to own(B5 and B6)? I don't plan to do any aftermarket work besides maybe rims, and I'm not a rough driver at all so I wouldn't beat on the car too much. I'd appreciate any input, and will update more when I come closer to a decision. I've read reviews, but I think generally people only write reviews for things they don't like so there are more bad than good. I figured at this site I would get more unbiased opinions
Thanks

They are reliable if the previous owner was taking care of it...
Usually around 70k miles timing belt should be changed (around $700). If u want to keep a car for year, i'd prolly go with b5 (2001) cause it is cheaper. But if u like the look of our b6 models, and dont mind spending a bit extra $$$ go with that.
