Have a 05 a4Q has about 118k and when i start it up and put it into first gear and drive a few feet i hear a little click noise. This only happens once, every time I turn the car on and then it gos away...sounds like its coming from right under the shifter maybe a little further up..other than that the car runs great..also i noticed if i give it a little more gas i dont even here the little click.......anyone have a clue what this might be?

 

Does it sound like it is coming from the front wheel area? Slight click like that is usually the first indications of the front CV joints going out. My right front has been clicking for 10k miles or so and I'm at 145k and they are original. It is usually the outer CV instead of the inner CV. Go to blauparts website and they have a very good write up of CV joints as well as OEM+ parts. See if that fits your symptoms.

 

Ya it coming from the axle area, that's most likely the problem one of my buddy's said the same thing.Thanks for the help
