Default Some advice if possible

Hi,

Im new to the forum and would like to ask some questions. I am considering buying a 04 Audi A4. I was originally looking at a 1.9 tdi 130 sport but have been drawn to the 1.8t. I was looking at an S Line 190bhp.

Is there anything i should know about these cars in particular?

What sort of mileage would i expect. I know the information is available but i wanted to hear from owners what they get?

Apart from bhp is there much difference in mpg between this and the 1.8t 163 bhp.

Your advice would be very helpful.

What year is the s line? I haven't heard of a b6 s line.

One thing you should know is that these cars break a lot and unless it's under warranty, you're a mechanic, or your best friend is a mechanic, you will be spending a lot on maintenance and repairs.

I'll second that!! These cars are tons of fun to drive, but when you buy them pre-owned, they become EXPENSIVE! I just spent about $500 in parts alone yesterday (I guess my weekend is already planned out )

Why is it that these break a lot? Is that a4's in general? As i was originally looking for an avant as ive just had a kid.

Ive had VW for the last 6 years and never had any problems. I thought Audi would be the same?

+1. Even if you and your best friend are mechanics.

Yes bumpers and skirts are stock. It's called an Ultra-Sport, S-Line or USP whichever you prefer.

Advice is that they break all the time. Read through the last few pages of posts here for examples of common problems.
