Default stage one apr or giac?

Runnin an 04 with 95000 and just had her tuned up this week, now that I know the car is good condition I am looking to ecu upgrade. After doing some research it has seem to come down to these two, I am open to other companies too. What stage 1 chip do you guys think is better or more aggressive. I just had the apr snub mount and diverter valve installed, purchasing the turbo compressor inlet and turbo throttle body hose soon. Im from upstate NY so the closest place I know of is in Buffalo who does APR but i know i shop 2 1/2hrs away that does GiAC. Thanks for your help guys

Closer the shop the better incase you have issues with the flash. GIAC is more agressive, though. APR is 'safer'

I would save up the extra $300 and buy some oem TT injectors and get flashed for APR 1+ right from the start, or the GIAC equivalent. Flash costs the same but you get more bang for the buck out of it, rather than buying stg 1 and then later paying for upgrade to 1+.

Default safer?

what do you mean when you say its safer to run apr? I know someone running apr stage 1 in their 02 passat and never had any problems with it. That car is way faster off the line then mine right now.

go with the unitronic, it is becoming very popular for the b6 lately, with a lot of guys changing over to it. Most of the fastest B6's out there are on unitronic tuned, right now we have 3 here, 2 of them in the 350-380 whp range and one has recently put down 441 whp on our mustang dyno. If you dont have a dealer local to you we can do a chip and ship, but hold off we will be doing a unitronic group buy soon for AF guys.

Ispoke with a kid who is a dealer for them and has a shop located about 45 mins from me, he said he could do me up. they charge 550 for their chip, so its worth it then? I wasn't sure since I did not know much about the company except what he told me, I have checked out there site however.

it is very worth it, these days we honestly flash more people from other software to unitronic then fresh installs.

people just go unitronic now because they are still in the game, meaning that they are still tuning/adjusting/working-on their software files they sell for the B6. Mostly everyone else(APR, etc) has their B6 files down-pat so they have moved on. I would only pay the extra money for unitronics if i was going BT/BAT and PAST stage 1.

Wouldn't that almost be an argument for going with APR or GIAC? I mean, if you're going big/bigass turbo, you're (somewhat) risking your engine - why not go with a well-established solution that's known to work, rather than something that sounds like it's in a perpetual beta state?
